Shane has a Master Degree in Human Nutrition from Deakin University in Melbourne, which a major focus on lipid metabolism and lipid metabolism during exercise. He was the former Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Global Corporate Challenge back in 2002-2011. In 2012 he co-founded Stepathlon in Mumbai India, which had a significant presence in the Asian market.
Shane has been a well-known figure in the health, fitness and wellness space in Australia and overseas and is frequently asked to present at numerous workplaces and conferences around the globe. He worked as a Health & Fitness writer for the Herald Sun in Melbourne, and as recognition of his work in the health and fitness field was appointed the Ambassador for the Victorian Government’s “Go for Your Life” program by the then Health Minister, the Honourable Bronwyn Pike.
He has six scientific publications to his name including; “A review of issues of dietary protein intake in humans, “published in the prestigious International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism (over 12,000 reads on Research Gate), and recently was involved with Professor Maximillian de Courten in publishing the largest scientific paper on mental health in the workplace; “ Happy feet evaluating the benefits of a 100-day 10,000 step challenge on mental health and wellbeing” published the BMC Psychiatry in 2018. The paper, which evaluates the dose response of walking steps and its relationship with Depression, anxiety, stress and mental wellbeing has made a significant impact on the mental health space in Australia and for Australian businesses.
